What if New Issues or Unexpected Questions Arise During Our Meeting?
A State Chamber of Commerce was holding a conference of all their members and community leaders to discuss the present and future plans for the state. They developed an agenda but also wanted to address new issues and concerns that might be discovered during the conference.
Meridia Interactive Solutions was invited to be a part of the conference to add an interactive element and increase the involvement and feedback from the meeting attendees. The chamber officials were concerned that–although they could get feedback from the audience with the Meridia system–they weren’t asking all the right questions. We suggested that they provide the audience with 3×5 cards on which the audience could write questions that they would like to pose to the entire group.
The cards were collected and reviewed at the lunch break. A small committee then selected ten of the most compelling from the list. These questions were given to the Meridia specialist to enter into the computer. Throughout the afternoon the new questions were presented on the screen and the entire audience was able to respond to them.
Using Meridia’s services in this manner added the element of immediacy to the proceedings and the audience was impressed that they were not only able to answer questions, but could provide questions for polling as well. The result was a dynamic atmosphere of participation and excitement throughout the conference. And as a bonus, the Chamber got insight into previously unknown issues presented by the audience.
